The pea that is sweet with flowers similar to a butterfly’s flitting wings, has proven irresistible to gardeners from the time the seventeenth century whenever Franciscus Cupani, a Sicilian monk, recorded the first crazy sweet pea, Lathyrus odoratus.

Cupani’s Original is just a variety that is rare the initial cultivated sweet pea grown by a schoolmaster in England from seed provided for him by Father Cupani. The enticingly flower that is fragrant using its mauve and maroon bi-colour blossoms, is still detailed among the top 10 best-selling sweet pea varieties.
